This week on The Jock and Nerd Podcast, Rugboy reports from New York Comic Con as we break down Marvel Television’s latest announcements, including a new live-action Zodiac series coming in 2028 and more Marvel Zombies specials. We also discuss Steven Spielberg and Michael Bay returning for another Transformers movie, Tom Cruise’s Digger facing a potential $245 million loss, and the latest standings in our 2026 Box Office Movie Draft.
Then we dive into our spoiler-filled review of DC Studios’ Lanterns Season 1, starring Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan and Aaron Pierre as John Stewart. We discuss the show’s grounded detective-story approach, the chemistry between its leads, Green Lantern mythology, Sinestro, the Manhunter mystery, and the shocking revelations in the season finale. Did Lanterns deliver a great HBO crime drama at the expense of being a great Green Lantern series? Plus, we look ahead to John Stewart’s future in James Gunn’s DCU.
