This week on The Jock and Nerd Podcast, Gotham is getting a new director! We discuss Steven Soderbergh taking over The Batman Part II as Matt Reeves steps away from directing, and revisit the surprising details of Ben Affleck’s abandoned Batman movie, including Deathstroke, Batgirl and a shocking character death. We also cover Sony’s ambitious release plans for four Beatles biopics and react to the new trailers for The Beekeeper 2 and Ramayana: Rise of a Legend.
Then it’s time to FIGHT! We dive into our spoiler-filled review of Street Fighter (2026), directed by Kitao Sakurai and starring Andrew Koji, Noah Centineo, Callina Liang, Jason Momoa and David Dastmalchian. Does this outrageous, nostalgia-fueled adaptation finally do justice to Capcom’s legendary fighting game? We break down the characters, tournament battles, iconic special moves, ridiculous humor, fan service and divisive ending. Plus, how does it compare to the 1994 cult classic and other video game adaptations?
